We Have a Dry House!

We’re wind and water tight!

After a soggy long wait we have now managed to have our roof repaired, which means a dry house! For some reason we seemed to have a lot of trouble trying to find someone who could repair our roof for us, and well as doing it for a reasonable price.

Now that the house is wind and water tight we can make a start on the middle bedroom. We had started on this room a few months ago but we had to stop until we got the roof repaired. We need to get the room plastered and decorated and then we can get on with exciting bit of sorting out my newΒ craft room / play room for our son πŸ™‚

Planning Permission!!

After a long couple of months we have finally been granted planning permission!! Yes!!

Unfortunately we’re still waiting on our building warrant, so the waiting continues …

We were hoping to have started, and finished, the loft conversion and knocking down the internal wall downstairs by Christmas, but this is looking more and more unlikely as time goes on 😦

I don’t want to end up in the situation where the builders have stopped work over for a couple of weeks over Christmas and we’re left living in a building site. I’d like Christmas to be as normal as possible for our son. Children are only little for such a small amount of time and I’d like his Christmases to be special, and especially this one as it’ll be our first one in our forever home πŸ™‚

I’ll keep our fingers crossed that we hear about the building warrant soon and then we can get started to our building works
